As “Breaking Bad” comes to an end this week, the big question on fans’ minds is what will become of chemistry nerd turned drug kingpin Walter White and his family. Though he’s the classic example of an anti-hero, Walt initially entered the ever-thrilling field of meth production in a desperate effort to provide economic security for his. Hoisted by His Own Petard: The Walter White Story would be an apt title for Walt’s bio, and it could very well be the theme of Breaking Bad. Here, Skyler buys Bogdan’s car wash in a genuine attempt. The Breaking Bad movie El Camino isn't Walt's story. It picks up where the show left off with Jesse. And while a Cranston cameo via flashback would be a welcome sight for fans, it's time to accept. Hoping to reconnect with his son, Walt offers to give Walt Jr. A driving lesson while Skyler is out again. Shows his skill at driving, but Walt notices that he is using both feet to work the pedals. When Walt tries to get him to only use the right foot, Walt Jr. Gets upset and accidentally hits a safety cone. I’m pumped up for a Breaking Bad movie and seeing Bryan Cranston reprise the role of Walter White, an iconic TV character. Whether it’s this year or next, a Breaking Bad movie is going to be phenomenal. As for the betting odds associated with this film, there’s some great opportunities for making money and maybe even an empire.

Fans of Breaking Bad, one of the greatest TV shows of all-time, are dancing in the streets this week as news of a Breaking Bad movie has begun to trickle down through mainstream media outlets. It appears that the original mastermind, Vince Gilligan, is creating a movie that will be a sequel to the original Breaking Bad series and head directly to Netflix. Initial reports speculate that the film will follow the life of Jesse Pinkman, one of the show’s main characters. As of now, we don’t know much else about this highly anticipated film.
With that said, entertainment betting sites are rolling out numerous prop bets for this movie like Hollywood rolls out the red carpet for a premiere. Let’s take a look at some of these Breaking Bad bets, courtesy of BetOnline, and see where we can make some Walter White type money.
Will the Breaking Bad movie be out by the end of 2019?

With roughly 10 months left in the year, and very little information about the film, it’s hard to imagine that Gilligan will have this all wrapped up and ready for release on Netflix by the end of the year. There are unconfirmed reports that filming began last November. However, there’s no concrete evidence that a Breaking Bad movie has started shooting.
Additionally, there are reports that a project named “Greenbrier” has been filming in New Mexico where the TV series took place. Unfortunately, there’s nothing that officially suggests “Greenbrier” is actually the Breaking Bad movie. Right now, it’s just speculation that the two are one in the same.
We, including Netflix, would all love to see a film out by the end of this year. But, with very little information and no confirmed shooting as of yet, the safe bet is on “No.”
Will Walter White Appear in the Movie?

I think this is a no-brainer. Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, was the main character of the show. The entire storyline arc began and ended with Walter. With that said, I can’t see how they make a Breaking Bad movie without Cranston in it.
Unlike not knowing any details about a possible release date, there is some evidence that leads us to believe Walter White will be in the film. For starters, Bryan Cranston is willing to reprise the role that made him a household name. Cranston made an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show recently and shared these sentiments about playing Walter White again:
“If Vince Gilligan asked me to do it, sure, absolutely. He’s a genius.”
Another piece of evidence that might prove a Walter White appearance in the movie is a report by Revenge of The Fans that cited a leaked cast list showing Cranston’s name among other former cast members reprising their key roles.
It’s widely believed that Walter White died in the series finale titled “Felina.” The majority of fans and critics believe that Walter succumbed to his gunshot wound, which closed out the final moments of the show. However, there is a growing contingency of fans and critics that believe Walter didn’t really die. And, over the years, Cranston has played up to this minority of fans by hinting that Walter might not actually be dead.
With that in mind, an appearance in this movie can show fans whether or not Walter White is really dead. If he’s alive then White will be active in this film. If Walter actually died then will most likely appear in flashbacks by one of the film’s characters.
Either way, I would bet the house on Bryan Cranston making some sort of appearance in this film.
Will Jesse Pinkman Die?

Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul, was one of the main characters of the show alongside Walter White. Pinkman’s evolution throughout the series was an artistic masterpiece by the writers. It was also a fantastic piece of acting by Paul who ended up winning three Emmy awards for his portrayal of Pinkman.
Early indications are that this Breaking Bad movie will follow the life of Pinkman and what happened to him after the series finale ended. When we last saw Pinkman, he was fleeing the crime scene where Walter White had to free him from being held hostage. As Jesse drove off, Walter ended up going into a meth lab and allegedly dying.
Series mastermind Vince Gilligan intentionally left Pinkman’s fate ambiguous as to allow the viewers to decide Jesse’s fate. Following the end of the series, Gilligan made the following comments about the fate of Jesse Pinkman:
“My personal feeling is that he got away. But the most likely thing, as negative as this sounds, is that they’re going to find this kid’s fingerprints all over this lab and they’re going to find him within a day or a week or a month. And he’s still going to be on the hook for the murder of two federal agents. But yeah, even though that’s the most likely outcome, the way I see it is that he got away and got to Alaska, changed his name, and had a new life. You want that for the kid. He deserves it.”
If this is going to be the only Breaking Bad film or sequel to the original show, then I say you have to kill off Pinkman. His death would be the main source of drama and emotions for this movie. Seeing all of the old characters will draw the fans, but the death of Jesse would be the “movie meth” that hooks them on the storyline.
However, until we get concrete details about the film, let’s play it safer than Walt’s desire to cook and sell meth, by taking the smart bet here and going with “No.” Jesse won’t die in this film.
Will Saul Goodman Appear?

To put this as bluntly as possible, it would be bad for business if they didn’t include Saul Goodman, attorney at law. Saul was one of the most lovable characters from the original Breaking Bad TV show and ended up getting his own spinoff titled Better Call Saul. This prequel, is a show that features many characters from the original series. In addition to Saul Goodman, portrayed by Bob Odenkirk, other prominent Breaking Bad characters that star in the prequel are Jonathan Banks who plays Mike the former cop and Giancarlo Esposito who plays Gustavo “Gus” Fring a huge meth dealer with ties to the cartel.
Through Better Call Saul, we get to see how all three of these stars end up in their respective storylines on Breaking Bad. Unfortunately, Gus and Mike don’t survive the Breaking Bad show. However, Goodman does escape the madness and it would be great to see how that happens. Or, we could always see Goodman helping Jesse Pinkman escape his past as they save Saul’s escape for his hit TV show.
Either way, I can’t imagine a Breaking Bad movie without Saul. Take the “Yes” betting option.

Will Pollos Hermanos be in the Movie?

This prop bet is a tough one. It really can go either way. But, if Gilligan and the writers are staying true to the original series then I’m going with the “Yes” betting option. For those that don’t remember, or need to brush up on their Breaking Bad trivia, Los Pollos Hermanos is the name of a fast food chicken franchise run by Gus Fring. Not only was it a legitimate business, but it was also a front for Fring’s criminal activities.
It’s believed that Fring owned over a dozen of these establishments throughout the southwest. However, with the death of Gustavo, the franchise ends up in disarray. Now, since this movie is supposed to be a continuation of what happened after the series finale, I would say that we get at least a shot of Jesse or Saul driving by a Los Pollos Hermanos. Gilligan could do something as simple as a character watching the news on TV and seeing that the franchise has gone under. There are plenty of options and ways to fit this in the film, which is why I believe we will see the famous chicken fast food franchise.
Will Gray Matter be said in the Movie?

Out of all of the available prop bets, this one is the most obscure. You have to be a real diehard fan to know what “Gray Matter” reallu is. It’s easy to peruse through the show’s episode list and find that season 1, episode 5 was named “Gray Matter.” But, there’s a deeper connection with Breaking Bad and “Gray Matter” than just the name of an episode.
Gray Matter Technologies is the name of a company that Walter White started with his friend Elliot Schwartz. In the first season, we see flashbacks of White working with his assistant Gretchen who he ends up dating. Unfortunately, White breaks up with Gretchen on vacation. A few years after the series had ended, Gilligan clarified that Walter ended things with Gretchen because of his pride, ego and insecurity. Gretchen would go on to marry Walter’s friend Elliott.
Walter ends up selling his share of the company for a reported $5,000 due to all of the drama between the cofounders. During the early seasons, White would explain to Jesse about his regrets over leaving the company he cofounded, especially since Gray Matter Tech would go on to be worth over $2.1 billion dollars according to Walter. In the scene below, we get flashbacks of White working with Gretchen at Gray Matter Technologies. These flashbacks were during season 1, episode 3.
The significance of White’s anguish over selling out his portion of the business appears to be carried by Walter throughout the entire series. It’s believed that Walter didn’t ever sell off his portion of the meth business because of the mistake he made with Gray Matter. However, we do see pride and ego cause issues for White throughout the entire series. At first, I was going to pick “No” for this betting option, but after acclimating myself with the significance of “Gray Matter” again, I believe that it will be mentioned somehow. Take the “Yes” and the +300 odds.
Final Thoughts on the Breaking Bad Movie
I’ve seen every episode of Breaking Bad at least twice. I was a huge fan of this series and believe it was one of those shows that changed television for the better. I put it up there with some of my other favorites like The Sopranos, The Wire and The Shield as the greatest TV shows ever. I’m pumped up for a Breaking Bad movie and seeing Bryan Cranston reprise the role of Walter White, an iconic TV character. Whether it’s this year or next, a Breaking Bad movie is going to be phenomenal.
